Ladies & gentleman, sat-su-ma proudly presents its very first silk dress, which is a collaboration between silkworms, onion skins, indigo and me. Unlike cotton, silk is an animal derived protein and acts differently while being dyed. My first trial with onion skins and indigo started cautiously but ended up happily on both sides. I may shed tears for its breathable texture, featheriness and fluidity. It’s precious. However, this is the only moment I can wear it. I’m taking it off, hanging on the rack and putting my work clothes back on. Huge sacrifice.
