Natural dyeing, or any kind of craftmanship, requires forgetfulness, forgiveness and unconditional love at a certain level because, you can’t maintain the motivation to keep on doing the same thing over and over again if you consider how tired you are, how much effort it takes and what you get in return all the time. 4 days for 4 dyeing stages are spent for one piece of cloth. However, when I hold the result in my hands, I remember nothing about how long, tricky and tiring the process was. For instance, here you see 10 days of dye work but, in fact, I see nothing other than how beautiful the colors are. From above to bottom, they are dyed with madder (Rubia tinctorum), Spanish broom (Spartium junceum), artichoke leaves (Cynara cardunculus), alkanet (Alkanna tinctoria) and onion skins (Allium cepa).
